ABOUT US

Barn House Candles & Gifts, L.L.C. was owned and operated by Lauri Chappell, a single parent of two daughters, Jenna and Cassidy. The Barn House is the home of the family which was built in approximately 1906 and was used as a horse barn until the late 1970s. Lauri purchased the barn in 2000 and after major renovation, moved her family into their unique home in early 2001. Barn House Candles & Gifts, L.L.C. is a dream come true for Lauri. The business started in her kitchen and very quickly moved into her basement workshop.

After six years in the business and finding the perfect people to continue to grow the candle company, Lauri has sold the business and passed the reigns to Michelle Murray so she can concentrate on being a mom and achieving her MBA.

Michelle lives in Cedar Rapids with her husband, Kenyon, and their three children Kristopher, Keegan, and McKenna. The valued tradition of hand poured, natural soy candles will carry on in the Murray home. .
